It was a few years ago when I discovered this Biancolella and fell in love with it! Tommasone is an outstanding winery on the island of Ischia, run by an impressive woman: winemaker and owner Lucia Monti. Shortly afterwards, the label received the highest recognition from Gambero Rosso, with the Tre Bicchieri award for 2019. I was overjoyed to hear that it had finally gained recognition.

🇮🇹 Italiano

This Biancolella is made from organic farming and vinified in steel vats, making it straightforward, clean, and pleasantly mineral. Its elegant and delicate bouquet will take you back to the island of Ischia, with scents of sea breeze, the sun, the flavor of summer, and the typicality of volcanic wines. It smells so much of oysters, followed by hawthorn, acacia, wildflowers, nuances of pear, and a slight sulphureous note.

The sip has a pleasantly savory and mineral taste with a medium-bodied palate, invigorating freshness, and a long-lasting lemony kiss that lingers on the lips. The finish has an unmistakable hint of bitter almond, which is typical of this fine varietal.

Tommasone Winery prioritizes sustainability and environmental protection as the core of its production philosophy. They aim to bring the sun, sea, and the authentic scents of Ischia to every sip. As a true connoisseur of this wonderful island, I can attest that they succeed brilliantly in this endeavor.
